Dear Contributor to Dear Women: back to top
Thank you for contributing to Dear Women: Inspirational Letters from Women to Women on Life, Love, and Learning based upon the following guidelines. The success of this first book of letters hinges on the unveiling of your heart in a letter from women to women giving hope and encouragement to your Sisters here on Earth. How do you feel about life? Do you sometimes wish you could shout words of encouragement to those around you? This is your opportunity.

I hope that the love and inspiration that you share with other women is repaid to you ten times over, because you deserve it! You are the embodiment of nurturing, love, humor, and emotion that makes you uniquely woman. Thank you for being you and sharing yourself and your experiences with others. Your letter may provide the right encouragement to another woman in a similar situation or life experience who simply needs to hear your voice of support to take the first step on the road to their greatest achievement … whatever that may be.

Suggestions for Writing Your Letter: back to top
A Dear Women contribution is an inspirational letter to women about your personal experiences and the lessons you may have learned from a specific event in your life. It may provide advice but not in a preaching manner. It must evoke emotion that touches the heart of women, reinforcing the attributes that are unique and cherished as the feminine spirit.

I know that each of us has learned valuable life lessons and, as most women, we usually talk to our friends about the experience to gain better understanding through the exchange of ideas, but also the support of a kindred spirit who cares about us as individuals. The letter must be one that you would love to send to a friend or women in general, or perhaps one that you wished you’d received in your unique circumstance. My heart’s desire is that these letters, by using this unique medium, will become a treasured possession of the reader. Think about the wonderful letters you have received, saved and cherished throughout your life. These letters will be a volume of writings akin to those.

Guidelines for a Dear Women letter:

  • Start the letter with “Dear Women”
  • It is an open letter from you to all women.
  • Please share a personal experience or story that taught you a lesson in life that you would like pass on to your Sisters here on Earth. Please include not only the details but how you felt during the event or experience and above all what the process brought you in your life.
  • Please do not sermonize.
  • Overall the letter should uplift the recipient, allowing them to gain benefit from your knowledge, intuition, or compassion as a fellow woman.
  • The letter should transcend daily drivel speaking to the heart and soul of the recipient.

What Dear Women letters are NOT:

  • A diatribe attacking all or any women for perceived faults or shortcomings as a sex.
  • About divisive or political topics or issues.
  • Self-serving, pompous, libelous, or hurtful in any way.
  • A letter sent to or received from an individual that would be offended to have shared such personal thoughts publicly.

  • I prefer that all letters are sent via the website www.booksofletters.com. If you do not have access to the Internet, please submit the letter typed on plain white 8.5X11 paper and mail to the address below.
